Robatel has announced the formation of a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary, Robatel Technologies LLC, based in Roanoke, Virginia. Robatel Technologies LLC will target the U.S. commercial and federal nuclear markets with an initial focus on the Department of Energy MOX project located at the Savannah River site in Aiken, SC.
Dominique Sanchette, CEO, Robatel Industries, said “having previously resided in Lynchburg, VA when Robatel was teamed with Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) on a DOE cask system for Yucca Mountain and with the pending commercial nuclear renaissance, we believe the time is right for Robatel to establish a U.S. market presence. I am particularly pleased with our Roanoke, VA location and its close proximity to AREVA and Babcock & Wilcox in Lynchburg, VA as well as the Department of Energy East Coast facilities and Washington DC.”
Teo Grochowski, COO, Robatel Technologies LLC, said “I am looking forward to working with Robatel Industries during the launch and growth of their US operations. Our win last year of a major contract with the MOX project at the Savannah River Site combined with the positive reception received at the Waste Management 2009 Symposia in Phoenix clearly demonstrate a demand for Robatel’s products and services.”
Robatel Technologies will initially offer design engineering and fabrication of nuclear fuel casks, glove boxes, modular hot cells, heavy shielded components and specialty turnkey installations associated with nuclear fuel or waste processing.
