An electrical problem shut down the Palisades Nuclear Power Plant over the weekend, but the plant made a quick recovery and is back online at 100% power.
A ground fault on one of three large cables that supply power to a station transformer at the Entergy plant in Covert Township shut down the plant automatically at 5:35 p.m. Saturday, plant spokesman Mark Savage said.
According to the NRC report, that all plant safety systems functioned as designed during the reactor shutdown, and plant safety was not compromised.
