Integran Technologies Enters Into Collaborative Research Agreement With TransCanada Corporation and NOVA Research

 – By Jack Bryar –

Integran Technologies Inc., a world leader in the development and commercialization of advanced metallurgical nano-technologies, has announced today that it has entered into a collaborative research agreement with TransCanada Corporation and NOVA Research and Technology Corporation (both of Calgary, Alberta, Canada) to develop an in-field repair process that utilizes nanocrystalline metals to structurally reinforce degraded gas pipeline steel. The concept is an extension of Integran's previous in-situ repair work carried out in the nuclear and petrochemical industries and is based upon the application of adherent high strength nanocrystalline metal sleeves or patches to cracked and/or corroded pipe.

In addition to the primary partners, the program will also benefit from the contributions of Dr. Fraser King of Integrity Corrosion Consulting Ltd.

Integran Technologies Inc. is a world leader in the development and commercialization of advanced metallurgical nano-technologies. Integran's affiliated companies include: Morph Technologies (Toronto, Canada) which is focused on advanced materials solutions for the automotive sector; Powermetal Technologies (Carlsbad, CA) which develops and manufactures products for the sports equipment and consumer product sectors; and Integran Defense Systems (Pittsburgh, PA) which develops leading-edge technologies for defense and homeland security.
