Dozens of Greenpeace members entered the grounds of two Vattenfall nuclear plants in Sweden Tuesday to protest plant security, although none came anywhere near their reactors.

At the Ringhals plant, about 20 were reported to have entered the grounds on bicycles, apparently after cutting a hole in the fence. Swedish news service TT reported that 16 people were arrested.

Meanwhile, 43 were arrested at the Forsmark plant, where protesters used ladders to climb over a fence. Greenpeace claimed 70 people had entered restricted areas at both plants, although local police said only nine made it past the first barrier at Forsmark.

In a blog post, Greenpeace said police arrived in 40 minutes to Ringhals and in 15 minutes to Forsmark, where the group's members have entered the grounds in protest before. An accompanying photo showed dozens of protesters approaching the outermost of two barb-wire-topped fences with ladders.
