The discharge of treated water has been temporarily suspended at the Fukushima-Daiichi nuclear power station following an earthquake and tsunami advisory in Japan, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said.
The agency also said it had been informed by Japan that there are no abnormalities so far at the Fukushima site, about 250 km north of Tokyo.
At least 30 people were injured after a magnitude 7.5 earthquake hit northeastern Japan on Monday night, forcing thousands of people to evacuate their homes.
