Curtiss-Wright announced this week that it acquired Nuclear Power Services Inc., a division of Amidyne Group based in Canada that serves the nuclear utility market.
"The acquisition of NPSI expands our nuclear manufacturing and test operations by providing an enhanced channel to the international fleet of Canadian-designed nuclear power plants," Curtiss-Wright CEO David Adams said in a release.
The $8 million deal encompasses all of NPSI's assets, which include an equipment manufacturing and test facility north of Toronto. Founded in 2000, the company employs about 20 people and is expected to generate sales of $5 million this year, according to Curtiss-Wright. The smaller company's services for the nuclear sector include commercial-grade dedication, equipment qualification, environmental testing, training and equipment refurbishment. It is among more than a half dozen companies Curtiss-Wright has acquired since the third quarter of 2012.
