Babcock & Wilcox on Wednesday announced $95.6 million in new contracts for the U.S. naval reactor program, in addition to $99.7 million in 2014 orders under previous contracts.
The company's Nuclear Operations Group will receive $76.8 million in incremental funding for engineering and fabrication work on the Ohio-class submarine replacement program. It also received a new contract worth $18.8 million for the disassembly of nuclear fuel components and the recovery of highly enriched uranium.
B&W has long provided fabrication and engineering services for the Navy's nuclear aircraft carriers and submarines. This year, the company also received a $23.7 million order under a previous $1.3 billion power systems contract. B&W also announced a $76 million order under an earlier $366 million contract for "procurement of material to be used in the assembly of nuclear propulsion components."
Work will take place in Lynchburg, Va., Mount Vernon, Ind., and the Ohio cities of Barberton and Euclid.
