Parsons announced that Ross Ridenoure has joined the firm as Vice President of Nuclear Energy Initiatives. In this role, Mr. Ridenoure will be responsible for supporting Parsons' business expansion into domestic and international nuclear energy markets.

Prior to joining Parsons, Mr. Ridenoure was the Senior Vice President, Chief Nuclear Officer and Site Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE), responsible for all aspects of the company's nuclear business, including operations, engineering, maintenance, nuclear oversight and regulatory activities of the company's San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS) — the largest single source of electricity generation in Southern California — located in north San Diego County.

Prior to joining SCE, Mr. Ridenoure was the Vice President and Chief Nuclear Officer for the Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) where he had overall responsibility for the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Station. Before OPPD, Mr. Ridenoure served on nuclear-powered submarines for 8 years in the United States Navy. He retired from the Navy in 2006 after more than 29 years of active and reserve naval service.

"We are thrilled to have Ross on board," said Tom Roell, Parsons Group Executive, Operations/Risk. "He has a great deal of experience working on nuclear energy initiatives as evidenced by his portfolio of projects, and he will be an asset to both Parsons and our customers."

Mr. Ridenoure is a member of the American Nuclear Society and the NuScale Power Customer Advisory Board, and is the current and first chairman of the Executive Advisory Committee for the North American Young Generation in Nuclear. He was formerly the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Utilities Service Alliance and was a member of the Strategic Teaming and Resource Sharing Steering Committee, the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations Executive Advisory Group, and the Nuclear Energy Institute's Nuclear Strategic Issues Advisory Group.

Mr. Ridenoure has held senior reactor operator licenses or certifications on three different commercial nuclear power plants and holds undergraduate degrees in nuclear engineering technology and sociology from Excelsior College and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska. He will be based in Parsons' Pasadena, California, corporate headquarters.
