According to news reports, the body that washed up on the shore of Lake Michigan is that of a missing AREVA employee.

Jeffrey Scott Stratton, 28, of Amherst, Va., was reported missing at about 2 p.m. Saturday. His body was found at about 10:45 a.m. Sunday near 538 B Ave., a few blocks from Blue Star Highway in Allegan County’s Casco Township.

Stratton was working at the Palisades Nuclear Generating Station in Covert, Mich. when he disappeared. He was last seen on Nov. 5 at a bar called the Curve Inn in South Haven, Mich., where his car was discovered.

An autopsy has been performed, but the cause of Stratton’s death has not yet been released.

“This is a tragic loss, and our deepest sympathies and thoughts are with Scott’s family,” said AREVA spokeswoman Catherine Mosley.

His body was discovered Sunday morning, washed up on the shore of Lake Michigan near South Haven.

Investigators said they cannot yet determine whether his death was accidental.
