Diversified Metal Products, Inc., an Idaho Falls, ID small business, recently won 6 contracts in excess of $8.5M from Shaw AREVA MOX Services for work to be performed for the Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility (MOX) at the DOE's Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC.

DMP won three subcontracts for the fabrication of gloveboxes, which are specialized radiological containments for handling and processing nuclear material. Two additional subcontracts are for the design and fabrication of stainless steel equipment for processing plutonium oxide. Diversified Control Solutions, a division of Diversified Metal Products, also won a subcontract for the fabrication of electrical control panels.

DMP has been doing business within the DOE complex for over 20 years. Current DOE customers include the Idaho National Lab in Idaho Falls, ID and the Waste Treatment Plant in Richland, WA.

"We're pleased that DMP continues to show leadership in the nuclear market," said Nathan McMasters, President of Diversified Metal Products. "These awards represent DMP's continued commitment to the MOX Project. We have other subcontracts with MOX that we have performed well on, and we look forward to a productive partnership."

When completed, the $4.86 billion MOX plant is designed to convert surplus weapons-grade plutonium into fuel for nuclear power plants.
