Westinghouse has acquired Mangiarotti, an Italian power industry manufacturer that provides components for nuclear plants.

About 345 people work for the acquired company that has manufacturing sites in Pannellia and Monfalcone, near the Slovenian border. Mangiarotti will become part of Westinghouse and a subsidiary of Westinghouse parent company Toshiba. The terms of the acquisition were not given in a Westinghouse press release announcing completion of the deal Tuesday.

Founded in 1930 as a manufacturer of power plant equipment, Mangiarotti also offers custom fabrication for the oil and gas industries. According to its website, the company makes heat exchangers, condensers, boilers, feedwater heaters and specialty equipment for oil refineries and chemical producers. Among its contracts, Mangiarotti also fabricates components for Westinghouse's AP1000 reactor.
