Repairs have kept Entergy's Pilgrim nuclear plant in Massachusetts offline this week after an unexpected shutdown on Sunday night.

The Cape Cod Times reported that the plant went offline to troubleshoot a small steam leak. It did not necessitate an event report to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Nonetheless, operators safely shut the plant down when workers saw the condition worsen.

The plant was already operating at 76 percent power following an earlier shutdown related to a feedwater pump electrical problem, according to the NRC.
