Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL) – a leading source of science and technology (S&T) laboratory applications for nuclear technology through its expertise in physics, metallurgy, chemistry, biology and engineering – has announced it is looking for general partnerships.

"AECL's new mandate is that they are looking to partner with companies, academic institutions, and research laboratories to advance nuclear S&T for the benefit of all Canadians. All partnerships are based on the agreement between participants to purse a common S&T goal using resources contributed by all parties," the company says.

A partnership with the AECL could entail:
• Access to unique facilities, equipment and staff
• Collaborations in pursuit of either non-proprietary or proprietary research
• Collaborations for the purpose of training and education

"AECL’s mandate to deliver these important benefits to Canadians is founded on the principle of partnerships. Together with our partners, we generate knowledge, share knowledge, access knowledge, apply knowledge, turn knowledge into technology and help others exploit that knowledge and technology for the public good," the company states.

Applicants are encouraged to contact AECL representatives to begin discussions around potential affiliations. Information on the facilities and laboratories at AECL – as well as the various types of work in which they are engaged with – is available on the AECL website. There are administrative requirements before access to AECL’s Nuclear Laboratories is granted to individuals or organizations who wish to explore partnering, according to the company.
